Kartra and WebinarJam are a perfect software match. In fact, they make such beautiful music together it’s impossible to resist going with the obvious title. Even if it does cast our coders as gods.
Don’t get me wrong; our coders are awesome – Kartra and WebinarJam being exhibits A and B – but if anyone in this company is going to be considered a deity, it should be my boss who kindly gave me time off work to go to Disney World (only 28 more sleeps!).
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is that Kartra and WebinarJam have been designed to synchronize with beautiful simplicity. I’m not only going to prove this beyond reasonable doubt, I’m going to share a bunch of cool, and very useful, things that you can do once you get your Kartra and WebinarJam accounts talking to each other.
Connecting Kartra with WebinarJam – so simple I can do it
Getting two individual pieces of software to merge is usually an exercise in frustration. For example, if you’re ever feeling in a particularly masochistic, try getting Microsoft Outlook to work on a Mac operating system.
Of course, it is POSSIBLE that the problem is my technologically-baffled brain. I’m a writer by trade, so anything technical, mechanical, or involving personal interaction is a complete mystery. Put another way, constructing a self-assembly desk and setting up a new laptop while making conversation with the new girl in the office is my personal idea of hell.
But this only serves to make my argument. Because if I can successfully link Kartra and WebinarJam without unintentionally setting fire to my office, then ANYONE can do it.
How easy is it?
Well, a little while back I was tasked with writing an instructional article explaining how to connect Kartra with WebinarJam. As usual, I readily agreed while internally going into a blind panic. I mean, yes, I’ve spent some time with both systems, but a procedure involving integrations and APIs and webicodes…
Sounds tricky, right?
But then I read the instructions, logged into my Kartra and WebinarJam accounts, and two minutes later…
I was done.
Honestly? It made me uneasy. It’s like when you order Chinese food and it arrives ten minutes later. Yes, it’s great that I now have a mouthful of spring rolls, but it shouldn’t be possible to accomplish something so spectacular quite so swiftly.
I thought perhaps I’d made a mistake. But as I played with the new features that come with Kartra and WebinarJam connectivity, it was clear that everything was running smoothly.
I’m not going to recap the process now (CLICK HERE to read the full article on connecting Kartra and WebinarJam). Suffice to say that it’s extraordinarily easy and involves little more than copying and pasting a couple of codes between the two programs.
Now comes the fun part. How does our new Kartra and WebinarJam integration improve our business? Here are five ideas to get you started.
1. Webinars are a saleable product
WebinarJam already has a function that allows you to charge a fee for access to your webinars. But once you connect to Kartra, you can set up your webinar as an individual product and make use of all of Kartra’s shopping cart features, including upsells, comprehensive analytics and split-testing.
Charging for a webinar isn’t always the best option, however. Try running a free sales webinar and using it to sell access to a course of private coaching webinars.
2. Customize emails through tagging
WebinarJam’s “If THIS, then THAT” feature is great. But hook it up to Kartra and it becomes spectacular. Tag your webinar registrants and attendees based on their actions and you have an endless array of possibilities for personalized communication.
For example, imagine sending this email to everyone who attended your webinar but left before the end:
“Thank you for joining my webinar. I’m sorry you weren’t able to stay until the end (don’t worry, it’s my bad for scheduling it at the same time as The Walking Dead). Especially as it means you probably didn’t get to see the great offer I made, just for those who took the time to show up. The offer isn’t publicly available, but I’ve got a private link to the offer that doesn’t expire for another 24 hours. I’d hate for you to miss out, so here’s the link so you can check it out.”
3. Design awesome webinar registration pages
WebinarJam has some great-looking webinar registration templates, but nothing beats the flair and drag-and-drop functionality of Kartra Pages. Design a great registration page in Kartra and simply drop in your webinar registration form.
4. Hire affiliates to promote your webinars
Register your WebinarJam webinar series as a product in Kartra (see item #1 above) and you can also link it to Kartra’s affiliate tool.
Even a free WebinarJam event with a sales offer at the end can be hooked up to Kartra’s affiliate program. Your webinar registration page effectively becomes the landing page to which affiliates send traffic, and you can pay commission on any subsequent sales made during your event!
5. Turn webinar recordings into a membership site
WebinarJam, as you’re probably well aware by now, records all of your webinars automatically. And if you’ve got a nice collection of useful, informative webinar recordings available, you can upload them to Kartra’s membership site feature to create a nice, saleable collection.
And, once again, your webinar collection membership site can be hooked up to Kartra’s affiliate program.
If you have both a Kartra and a WebinarJam account, don’t be afraid to link them together. It’s eerily easy (borderline sorcery, if you ask me), and you’ll open up access to a whole range of new features and product ideas.
